As of today, my (relatively short) stint as the Chicago Editor for Tasting Table is coming to an end. It’s been a really great run, even for such a short time - 55 delicious stories covering everything from living walls to ridiculously huge cocktails. I’m gonna miss my TT colleagues, especially Karen Palmer and Jessica Battilana, who gave me wonderful edits and helped me refine half-baked ideas into fully-baked ones. Plus, my amazing intern Kailley Lindman, the very best young food photographer I know.
TT is focusing more energy on their (beautiful) national edition, which means they don't need as much from the various cities. What this means for me? I’ll still hopefully contribute the occasional Chicago story to TT, but there’s no more “Chicago Editor” as it has been.
I’ll keep putting out interesting (at least to me) content at the Sun-Times, SPLASH, Serious Eats and anywhere else that will hire me. And who knows what will come along in the future? Someday I’ll convince someone to put me on TV. :-)
